Behold a Black Horse
Revelation 6:5-6 “And when he (the Lamb) had opened the third seal, I heard the third Living creature say, Come. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four Living creatures say, A measure of wheat for a denarius, and three measures of barley for a denarius; and see you hurt not the oil and the wine.”
The color Black signifies unclean, darkness and evil in the same way that White represents clean, light and good. What is interesting here is that the balances are in the hand or control of the horseman, but he is prevented from harming the oil and the wine. So, let’s string some pearls.
Why a Black Horse?
Scripture is often represented in opposites, White and Black, Light and Dark, Good and Evil, and so forth. The Greek word translated Black here only appears three times in the New Testament, which seems odd for a term as common as Black. Two of those appearances are in Revelation 6. They are the Black Horse above and:
Revelation 6:12 “… the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, …”
In order to understand what is meant by the sun becoming black we need to look at the allegorical meaning of the sun.
John 9:5 (Jesus said) “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
Matthew 17:2 “And (Jesus) was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.”
Ecclesiastes 8:1 “Who is as the wise man? and who knows the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom makes his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.”
The Wisdom of Jesus is as the light of the Sun, the light of the world.
John 1:1-5 “In the beginning was the Word… In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shined in darkness; and the darkness comprehended (understood) it not.”
John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, …”
Allegorically then, black and darkness are the inability to comprehend or hear the Wisdom of the Word of God.
Balances in his hand
The balances in the hand of the one on the black horse indicate that darkness, those unable to comprehend the Word of God, have power over the scales.
Proverbs 11:1 “A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is His delight.”
The descriptive phrase in Revelation 6:6 “A measure of wheat for a denarius, and three measures of barley for a denarius” confirms that we are speaking about an unjust balance. Think about it like this: The cost to produce a measure of wheat is roughly the same as the cost to produce a measure of barley and the weight of each is about the same. Yet one cost three times as much as the other.
Micah 6:11-12 “Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? The rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.”
A false balance is an abomination to God because it is by this false economy that they (the wicked) will entrap you. Remember:
Revelation 13:16-17 “And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
Wicked Balances
Amos 8:4-5 “Hear this, O you that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?”
Simply put, nearly all of the money in the world today is fiat, meaning that there is nothing on the other side of the scale. For example, in 2016 the price of gold was $1000 an ounce, as of this writing the price is $4500 an ounce, but an ounce of gold is still an ounce of gold. Which means that today’s dollar will purchase about what two dimes would purchase just ten years ago. This false balance is called Inflation today and it is controlled by the central banks setting interest rates.
Exodus 22:25 “If you lend money to any of My people that is poor by you, you shall not be to him as an usurer, neither shall you lay upon him usury.”
A usury rate or interest rate is the price charged to use or borrow money. In the United States the Federal Reserve controls the interest rate, but nearly every nation on earth has its own version of a central bank. Which means that every nation on earth is in violation of this command of God.
Why do the nations do this?
Amos 8:6 “That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yes, and sell the refuse of the wheat?”
If someone purchases your labor for money or goods and they control the value of the money AND the price of the goods, how is that different from slavery. As for the refuse of wheat, America is the most obese nation on earth because we eat corporate fast food which has been stripped of nutrient value for profit.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (profit).
Imagine if Christians actually read and adhered to the teachings of Jesus.
Matthew 22:37-40 “Jesus said unto him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.'”
Matthew 7:12 “Therefore all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”
This seems like a teaching that even a child could understand.
Spiritual Famine
By the above traits you can identify the wicked in the world today, but there is a spiritual meaning to this as well. God, through the prophet Amos, brings us back around to that as follows:
Amos 8:9 “And it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:”
Remember, Jesus was as the light of the Sun so what God is taking away is the Wisdom of the Word of God. Making the Sun, black as sackcloth when God pours out His wrath. (Rev 6:12-17)
Amos 8:10-11 “And I will turn your feasts (holidays) into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. Behold, the days come, says the LORD God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the Words of the LORD:”
This is because of those who swallow up the needy and make the poor to fail as it says in Amos 8:4 above. Which brings us once again to the signs of the End.
Matthew 24:5 “For many shall come in my name, saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many (majority).” (False Religion – White Horseman)
Matthew 24:7 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: …” (Oppressive Government – Red Horseman)
Matthew 24:7 “…and there shall be famines …” (False economy – Black Horseman)
God has hidden his Word from the false religion (White Horseman) and the oppressive government (Red Horsemen) because they use it to elevate themselves into positions of power and take peace from the earth. They have taken bribes from the merchants (Black Horseman) who have falsified the balances leaving the people with nothing.
Revelation 18:3 “For all people have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her (the Whore of Babylon, the White Horseman) fornication, and the kings of the earth (the Beast, the Red Horseman) have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth (the Black Horseman) are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.”
The word fornication here is not sexual, it is the same as the idiom “in bed with” in regard to an illicit or illegal business relationship.
Revelation 18:23 “… for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were all people deceived.”
The heads of the largest corporations on the earth today are in lock step to create artificial intelligence, digital platforms and digital ID which will control every aspect of your life. Do you suppose that is for your benefit or theirs?
Hurt not the Oil and Wine
This Horsemen are not able to hurt the Oil and Wine. Why?
The Oil
1 Samuel 16:13 “Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward…”
The oil represents the anointing which in the Hebrew here is mashach (messiah). This is the same word in the Isaiah version of the Luke quote below, which is chrio (christ) when translated into Greek.
Luke 4:18-19 (Jesus quoting Isaiah 61 said) “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the LORD.”
Notice that the anointing oil is the Spirit of the LORD or Holy Spirit, which was upon him. The word translated Spirit in both Hebrew and Greek means breath, so that when he spoke the gospel to the poor, he was anointing them, just as God had anointed him.
The oil represents the Spirit of the LORD and those who are anointed with it, hear the Words of God. This is the true meaning of Christian, someone who has been anointed with the Word of God.
From the Nag Hammadi Library:
Gospel of Philip :78 “The chrism (anointing oil) is superior to baptism, for it is from the word “chrism” that we have been called “Christians,” certainly not because of the word “baptism.” And it is because of the chrism that “the Christ” has his name, For the Father anointed the Son, and the Son anointed the apostles, and the apostles anointed us. He who has been anointed possesses everything. He possesses the resurrection, the light, the cross, the Holy Spirit.”
This is why the Horsemen cannot hurt the oil or those anointed with it. What about the wine?
The Wine
Luke 22:19 “And he (Jesus) took bread, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.”
John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, …”
Jesus was telling the apostles to eat the Word of God, which is to say, study and remember what he said and did.
Luke 22:20 “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup (of wine) is the New Covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.”
What is this New Covenant?
Hebrews 8:10 “For this is the (New) Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:” (Jer 31:31)
Jesus is telling the apostles to drink the New Covenant which he gave his life to teach. This teaching is how God’s Word is written in your heart and mind .
John 6:53 “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”
This has nothing to do with the physical act of eating or drinking, nor the symbolic charade called communion as presented by your local church. This is about learning and knowing the Word of God in truth.
From the Nag Hammadi Library:
Gospel of Philip :17 “Jesus said, “He who shall not eat my flesh and drink my blood has not life in him” (John 6:53). What is it? His flesh is the Word, and his blood is the Holy Spirit. He who has received these has food and he has drink and clothing.”
This is the true hidden meaning of the Last Supper and the only way to survive the famine of hearing the Words of God that Amos was speaking of. So what should you do?
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.”
The reason the wine and oil cannot be harmed by the four horsemen is because it represents those who know God’s Word. They are not deceived because the Name of God is in their foreheads (minds). They know their Heavenly Father and He knows them.
In Conclusion
The Black Horseman is a false economy controlled by the merchants of the earth. In his hand are the balances of deceit with which they steal all the resources of the earth leaving the people with nothing. They cannot harm the righteous because the righteous know the truth and will refuse to accept their Digital ID (aka. The Mark of the Beast).

The richest 1 percent have more wealth than the bottom 95 percent of the world’s population put together, new Oxfam analysis of UBS data reveals today ahead of the annual UN High-Level General Debate.
Oxfam’s briefing paper “Multilateralism in an Era of Global Oligarchy” warns that multilateral efforts to respond to critical global challenges, including the climate crisis and persistent poverty and inequality, are being undermined by the ultra-wealthy and mega-corporations fueling inequality within and between countries.
“The shadow of global oligarchy hangs over this year’s UN General Assembly. The ultra-wealthy and the mega-corporations they control are shaping global rules to serve their interests at the expense of people everywhere. The iconic UN podium is increasingly feeling diminished in a world in which billionaires are calling the shots,” said Amitabh Behar, Oxfam International’s Executive Director.
The paper describes a “movement toward a global oligarchy,” where the ultra-rich, often through their increasingly monopolistic corporations, shape global political decision-making and rules to enrich themselves while thwarting vital global progress.

Revelation 6:8 … “And power was given unto them (all four Horsemen) over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”
At this point it should be clear that these Horsemen have power over the four parts (ie. the whole) earth. We have, thus far, covered the false world religion, the false world government and the false world economy.
