There has already been much written about this book so I will make this brief. I simply want to introduce you to the Book and the Man we call Enoch, the Father of Prophecy.
His writings open like this:
“The word of the blessing of Enoch, how he blessed the Elect and the Righteous, who are to exist in the Time of Tribulation; rejecting all the wicked and ungodly. Enoch, a righteous man, who was with God, answered and spoke, while his eyes were open, and while he saw a holy vision in the Heavens.
This the angels showed me. From them I heard all things and understood what I saw; that which will not take place in this generation, but in a generation which is to succeed at a distant period/time. On account of the Elect, upon their account I spoke and conversed with Him, who will go forth from His habitation, the Holy and Mighty One, the God of this world:” Enoch 1:1-3
Jesus quoted Enoch when he said at the time of the end, the world would be in “Great Tribulation” and there would be ‘Great Signs’ from Heaven. And at that time the Son of Adam would send forth his Angels/Messengers with the sound of a Great Trumpet to gather his Elect. Matthew 24:21, 31
Daniel said in that Day, the Great Prince, Michael will stand up for and to deliver the people of God in a Time of Trouble or Tribulation, a time of distress. Daniel 12:1-3
Enoch was the great-grandfather of Noah. When he realized there would be a flood that would destroy the earth and the wicked, he prayed to God,
Enoch’s Prayer
“The angels/messengers/ministers of your Heavens have transgressed; and on mortal flesh Your wrath shall remain, until the Day of the Great Judgment. Now then, O God, Lord and mighty King, I entreat you, and beseech you to grant my prayer, that a posterity may be left to me on earth, and that the whole human race may not perish; That the earth may not be left destitute, and destruction take place forever. O my Lord, let the race perish from off the earth which has offended You, but a Righteous and Upright race establish for a posterity forever…” Enoch 83:5-8
God answered his prayer when He gave instructions to Noah on how to survive the flood by building an Ark. The Righteous seed came from there.
The Golden Age and the Nephilim
Enoch wrote, for a witness, the history of mankind from the beginning to the end time, which will be the true ‘Golden Age’ or the Messianic Age of Peace when all wickedness will cease. He wrote about the “Fallen Angels” translated as ‘giants’. As it says in Genesis 6:4 “There were ‘giants’ in the earth in those days…”
The word ‘giants’ is Nephilim from n’phil, Strong’s #5303. It means a bully or tyrant. They rebelled against God and have ruled over His creation with cruelty and great offense against Him.
