Book of Enoch

005 The Books 1

In this PodCast we will be discussing some of the valid scriptural books which are not contained in the Bible. Most Christians don’t even know these books exist due mostly to suppression by “Orthodox” Christianity for the last two millennia. Some, like the Dead Sea Scrolls and The Nag Hammadi Library were just recently rediscovered in the 1940’s and 50’s. The books we will be presenting in this and the next video open up concepts in God’s Word that few Christians have ever considered.

The Books we will be covering in this PodCast are:

  • The Book of Enoch
  • The Book of Jasher
  • The Apocrypha
  • The Nag Hammadi Library
  • The Book of Barnabas

Q&A: Is it a sin to read books left out of the Bible?

Open Bible, light from sun

It is neither a sin to seek knowledge about the books left out of the Bible, nor is it a sin to seek knowledge from them. Anyone who tries to dictate what you read, especially if they are using God and sin as a pretext, is someone you should get far away from.

What is Sin?

1 Jn 3:4 Whosoever commits sin, transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Ro 5:13 For until the law, sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

So, Sin is the transgression (in the sense of missing the mark) of the Law and where there is no Law there is no sin. Nothing in the Law dictates what you can and cannot read.

Hear the Word of the LORD!

“Hear the Word of the LORD, O you nations, He that scattered Israel will gather him and keep him as a shepherd does his flock. For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD … and their soul shall be as a watered garden and they shall not sorrow any more at all.”

Jeremiah 31:10-12

Enoch prophesied…

“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.”

Jude 1:14-16

“Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his Holy Ones, to execute judgment upon them and destroy the wicked, and reprove all flesh for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against Him.”

The Book of Enoch 2:1

Here is the ancient Book of Enoch being quoted by a New Testament Apostle, the brother of Jesus, telling us what to expect in that day! What more could that book tell us? Who was Enoch? Where did he get his knowledge?
