Q&A: The Tyrants in the earth

Question: Why hasn’t God intervened on the tyrants throughout history to prevent far worse atrocities than in the Old Testament days in which He did intervene?

A tyrant is a king or ruler who uses his power oppressively or unjustly. Any despotic person.
Tyranny is the arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power, despotic abuse of power; oppression

The tyrants in the earth are becoming plainly visible and God has every intention of intervening!

Thus saith the LORD, “To Me belongs vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste… And He shall say, ‘Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted?'”

Deuteronomy 32:35-37

The Law of God on tyranny:

“You shall not therefore oppress one another; but you shall reverence your God: for I am the Lord your God. Wherefore you shall do My statutes, and keep My judgments, and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety.” Leviticus 25:17-18

To find the roots of tyranny and oppression we must look back in history to the beginning. Because Jesus told his disciples, ‘where the beginning is, there shall the end be also.’

“And the Lord said to Moses, I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey… Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto Me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.”

Exodus 3:1-9
Israel escapes oppression

But now, let’s look back even further…

“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Adam be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the Ark, and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Adam be.”

Jesus – Matthew 24:37-39
Missed the boat!
In the days of Noah, the Flood came and they were left behind.

There were Tyrants – the Mighty Men of old

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose…

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown/fame.

God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the Lord said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for I am sorry that I have made them.’”

Genesis 6:1-10

The word ‘giants’ here means tyrants. From the Strong’s Concordance, #5303, נפיג Nephil: a feller, i.e. a bully or tyrant. These “Sons of God” are often referred to as the “Fallen Angels” for having rebelled and ‘fallen away’ from God. The tyrants came of the union between the ‘sons of God’ and the ‘daughters of men’.

Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just/righteous man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. These men and their wives were saved in the Ark.

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah, a preacher/Teacher of Righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; …The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished:”

Peter – 2 Peter 2:4-9

The Tyranny of the Earth

“The earth also was corrupt before God and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh is come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.’”

Genesis 6:11

Enoch also taught:

“It happened after the sons of men had multiplied in those days, that daughters were born to them, elegant and beautiful. And when the angels, the sons of heaven, beheld them, they became enamored of them, saying to each other, Come, let us select for ourselves wives from the progeny of men, and let us beget children…

Then they took wives, each choosing for himself; whom they began to approach… and with whom they cohabited teaching them sorcery, incantations, and the dividing of roots and trees. And the women conceiving brought forth giants/tyrants… These devoured all which the labor of men produced; until it became impossible to feed them; When they turned themselves against men, in order to devour them;”

The Book of Enoch 7:1-13

The Book of Enoch speaks extensively about these tyrants and their rebellion against God. He also calls them the Watchers.

Cain: a tyrant toward Abel

Cain hated his brother, Abel, out of envy. He didn’t think God would hold him accountable. But when Cain killed his brother, God put a mark on him and sent him away.

“Jesus said to the Pharisees (priests), If God were your Father you would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither have I come of myself, but He sent me. Why don’t you understand my speech? because you cannot hear my word. You are of your father, the devil and the lusts of your father will you do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him… He that is of God hears God’s Words…”

Jesus – Gospel of John 8:42-47
"Am I my brother's keeper?" Cain
“Am I my brother’s keeper?”

Judge between the wicked tyrants and the Righteous Remnant

“Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he, Jesus, is righteous. He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him. He cannot sin, because he is born of God.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that does not love his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of the Wicked One and slew his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his own works were evil and his brother’s righteous.”

John – 1John 3:7-11

As the Days of Noah

Jesus said regarding the end times that it would be like the days of Noah. The earth is now once again filled with violence and corruption. There is no peace, only contention and wars. There is no reverence of God, the Creator of all things, only idols and men of no understanding are consulted. There is no righteousness in the earth, only murder, theft, fraud, bribery, and the perversion of justice. There is no care for those who are without, only greed and a lust for more profit and dominance. The Laws of God are disregarded and have been thrown behind the backs of those in authority.

But “to everything there is a season and a purpose under heaven.” God has appointed an end to falsehood when He gave us the Sabbath.

From the Ten Commandments:

“Six days shall you labor, and do all your works: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath Day and hallowed/sanctified it.”

Exodus 20:9-11

“But pray that your flight is not in the winter neither on the Sabbath Day. For then shall be Great Tribulation such as has never been seen since the beginning of the world, no nor ever shall be.”

Jesus – Matthew 24:20-21, Daniel 12:1

The Apostles explain

“But, beloved, don’t be ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

Peter – 2 Peter 3:8

“Consider, my children, what that signifies, He finished them in six days. The meaning of it is this; That in six thousand years the Lord God will bring all things to an end. For with Him one day is a thousand years; as Himself testifies, saying, ‘Behold this day shall be as a thousand years.’ Therefore, children, in six days, that is, in six thousand years, shall all things be accomplished.”

Barnabas – Epistle of Barnabas 13:4-5

All would agree to the calculation of 6,000+ years since the time of Adam. Also, it is a time of Great Tribulation on the earth that is unprecedented.

To the Mighty Tyrants at the End

Assyrian Despots ruled over Israel

The Northern Kingdom of Israel was taken captive by the Assyrian Empire in 721 BC. God gave them over to it because of their idolatrous worship practices and their want to be like the Assyrians. They were deported from their own land and placed in the ‘Land of the Medes.’ They escaped up over the Caucasus Mountains and spread out from there. Some say they assimilated into Assyria and have been lost to history forever. They have become known as the ‘Ten Lost Tribes of the House of Israel.’

Did they become like their captors? Are they the despotic rulers at the end? Here is a history of How America became the most powerful country on Earth. Is America where the Lost Tribes of Israel found a home? The military budget of the United States is more than the next ten countries put together. Have they become as those ‘sons of God’ in the beginning who rebel and disregard the God of their fathers?

The Sixth Seal reveals the tyrants

“I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

The heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. The kings/rulers of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great Day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?'”

The Book of Revelation 6:12-17

The Day of the LORD is the Sabbath Day

“You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and My people shall never be ashamed/confused. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…

I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible/dreadful Day of the Lord come.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, and in the Remnant whom the Lord shall call.”

Joel 2:27-32

“For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the Day that comes shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

But unto you that reverence My Name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall… Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful/terrible Day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the Father to the children, and the heart of the children to their Father, when I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

Malachi 4

The Great and Dreadful Day of the LORD

“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixer into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name.”

Revelation 14:8-12

Elijah has come for the Remnant

“How long will you vacillate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him: but if Baal then follow him.”

Elijah – 1 Kings 18:21

I say then, Has God cast away His people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

God has not cast away His people which He foreknew. Don’t you know what the scripture says of Elijah? how he makes intercession to God against Israel, saying, ‘Lord, they have killed Your prophets, and digged down Your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.’

But what was the answer of God to him? I have reserved to Myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a Remnant according to the election of grace.”

Paul – Romans 11:1-5, 1 Kings 19:14-18

“You shall not be afraid of them: but remember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and unto all Egypt.”

Deuteronomy 7:18
Pharaoh drowned in his pursuit of Israel
Pharaoh and his whole army were drowned in their pursuit of Israel

The Branch of David comes for the Remnant

“There shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding; the spirit of counsel and might; the spirit of knowledge and of the reverence of the Lord…

In that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Tribes seek: and his rest shall be glorious. It shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the Remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt… and from the islands of the sea. …There shall be an highway for the Remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.”
