Prophecy Monthly – April 2024

April was a month of hypocrisy. After months of debate over a new foreign aid package with funding for both Ukraine and Israel, Biden signed a bipartisan supported bill approving $95 Billion in more US funding. He declared at the bill signing, which will mostly fund weapons for war, that it was a ‘Good Day for World Peace.’

“Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goes therein shall not know peace.”

Isaiah 59:7-8

In response to the on-going wars, protests on school campuses erupted around the world. Teachers, in some cases, joined the students while, in other cases, the police were called in to clear growing encampments.

In regards to weather, the world also experienced the impacts of extreme drought in some areas, and extreme storms and flooding in others.

The following map is a summary of current events related to prophecy. Below the map you will find the event details and relevant Scriptural references. Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.

Wars and Rumors of Wars

‘Good Day for World Peace’

President Biden signed a bipartisan approved foreign aid package worth $95 billion to continue military defense support and aid for Ukraine, Israel, Gaza and Taiwan. After signing the bill, Biden stated it was a ‘good day for world peace.’ A sample of what is included in the bill is $13.8 billion to Ukraine allocated for purchasing weapons, $4 billion to Israel to replenish their missile defense system, $3.3 billion to Taiwan for submarine infrastructure and development and $1.9 billion to replenish U.S. weapons provided to Taiwan. The path to peace does not include more weapons and war!

Interestingly, earlier in the month, Biden called for an ‘immediate ceasefire’ to keep US support for Israel. What happened? There was no ceasefire and yet billions more in weapons were just approved for Israel.

The US isn’t the only one continuing to increase military expenditures. Globally, governments spent $2.4 trillion dollars in 2023 on arms, a record high and the largest annual percentage increase in a decade. The report observed that this was a world-wide pattern with increases in all five geographical regions of Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania and the Americas.

“Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up.

Psalm 28:3-5

Israel-Hamas War

The Israel-Hamas war looks like it will continue to expand in Gaza, the West Bank, Iran and Lebanon. Many are now expecting a ‘full-scale’ war with Hezbollah in Lebanon, an escalation from the bombs lobbed periodically between the two countries.

The death toll passed 34,000 in Gaza with Israel still moving forward with it’s advancement on Rafah, a city many fled to as directed by Israeli forces. Many of those killed were targeted by AI (Artificial Intelligence). One Israeli intelligence source claims permission to the AI system was ‘given to kill civilians in pursuit of low-ranking militants.’ If you read the article linked below you will learn that there was a preference to ‘attack when they (Hamas) were believed to be at home… It’s much easier to bomb a family’s home.’ It’s no wonder Israel has been accused of committing genocide! Would you like to be on the receiving end of an AI targeting system?

Iran launched a barrage of drone and missile attacks on Israel, most of which were shot down prior to hitting their targets. In response, Israel used drones to strike back at Iran.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear/listen, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man is not the righteousness of God.”

James 1:19-20

“And it shall come to pass in the last days… many people shall come and say, ‘Come ye, and let us go up to the Mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, … and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Isaiah 2:2-4

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Romans 3:10-18

Ukraine-Russian War

As mentioned above, the US approved more funding for Ukraine within a $95 Billion foreign aid package. Australia continued its financial support to Ukraine by pledging an additional $100 million in assistance. The assistance covers ammunition and military equipment.

In April, Russia was accused of using chemical gas in its attacks on Ukrainian solders. Meanwhile, Ukraine lowered the military draft age from 27 to 25 to increase the number of solders. At the same time they are re-evaluating guidelines around disability waivers.

Ukraine has been attacking Russian factories and fuel depots far within Russian territory with drones. At the same time, Ukraine also used long-range missiles ‘secretly’ supplied by the US, to strike Crimea.

Sudan

The civil war in Sudan continues to escalate with an additional 30 villages destroyed through March of this year. One village, El Fasher saw 11 killed and 40,000 flee their homes.

Increasing number of villages torched across Sudan shows conflict is intensifying

Rumors of War

Posturing continues in Asia between China and Taiwan and the US. At the conclusion of a visit by US delegates to Taiwan, a dozen Chinese warplanes flew close to Taiwan reportedly as a ‘threat’ to the island. The US had just approved billions of dollars in military aid to Taiwan and the US Secretary of State, Blinken, called on Chinese companies to stop ‘supplying components and materials to the Russian defense industry or face new sanctions.’

Diplomatic ties between Mexico and Ecuador broke down after police forcibly entered the Mexican embassy in Quito and detained the former Ecuadorian vice-president. The former vice-president has been convicted of corruption charges twice and had taken shelter at the Mexican embassy.

“You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you are not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Violence

Mass Killings

Australia was shocked in April when a man stabbed seven people to death at a mall. This attack highlights an increase in violence at places generally deemed safe for the public.

Hypocrisy

Sex Abuse Scandals

The Catholic Church continues to have new abuse cases in its schools. In April a Catholic high school teacher was charged with having sex with a 17-year-old student in Australia. In the US, The New Orleans archdiocese was issued a search warrant as part of a child sex-trafficking investigation. Documents uncovered by state troopers already show that ‘previous archbishops, the highest-ranking official in the archdiocese, not only knew of the sexual abuse and failed to report all the claims to law enforcement, but spent archdiocese funding to support the accused.’ The paper trail required by the police includes communications with the Vatican.

In Spain, a plan was approved to move forward with compensating victims of sexual abuse by the Roman Catholic Church. Previously, a report in Spain estimated 440,000 adults could have been victims of the Church abusers.

History of Oppression

The State of Brazil has made its first apology to Indigenous people who were imprisoned and abused in an ‘Indigenous concentration camp.’ A commission investigating crimes committed between 1964 and 1985 made the apology for the State. The ‘re-education’ camp abused inmates and forbade them from speaking their own language, a similar strategy used at schools in Canada and the US funded by the states and managed by religious organizations.

Exodus 22:21

Protests

Thousands of college students took to camping out in central areas of their schools and occupying buildings to protest the ongoing war in Gaza. The protests were initiated in the US, but have expanded to the rest of the globe.

A coordinated protest across the US blocked roads, bridges and airports on April 15th. Protestors impacted roads and bridges in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Oakland, Philadelphia, Oregon and elsewhere. Protests also took place internationally in Ireland, Australia, Spain and Greece.

There was a protest outside of a court in Jerusalem following the detainment of a Palestinian legal scholar for comments she made on a podcast in previous months. This arrest flagged a ‘new threat to civil liberties’ and brought into question what happens to not just citizens, but also academics who go against ‘the consensus in wartime.’ Meanwhile, in the US, several colleges and universities have arrested reporters trying to cover the student protests.

Luke 21:25

Tribulation

Famine

A look back at 2023 has determined that globally, an additional 13.5 million people now face food-insecurity bringing the estimate to 281 million people. Two-thirds of the people accounted in the increase live in Sudan, a country deep into a civil-war.

As famine looms in Sudan, the hungry eat soil and leaves
Sudan had largest number of people facing extreme food shortages in 2023

“The beginning of sorrows and great mourning, the beginning of famine and great death; the beginning of wars, and the powers shall stand in fear; the beginning of evils! what shall I do when these evils shall come? Behold, famine and plague, tribulation, and anguish, are sent as scourges for amendment… For many of them that dwell upon earth shall perish of famine, and the other, that escape the hunger, shall the sword destroy.”

Extreme Weather

Solar Weather

The sun was blackened on April 8th during a Total solar eclipse. Millions of people in North America witnessed the celestial event, a shadow in God’s Word, physically manifested in the sky! What does it mean? Watch the two podcasts linked below to find out.

The Sun continues to approach solar maximum with increased solar activity. On April 23rd four simultaneous explosions blasted from the sun. This rare event was from three different sunspots spread across the whole face of the sun and a magnetic filament right in the middle. While there were not any X-class flares in April, there were a significant number of sunspots.

Wildfires, Volcanoes, Heatwaves & Drought

Mount Ruang in Indonesia erupted at lease three times in April causing 11,000 to flee. One eruption reached 3,900 feet into the air. You can watch the eruption here: Mount Ruang Volcano eruption.

In the Philippines, a ‘historic’ heatwave for this time of year has led to school closures. The water temperatures in the Gulf of Thailand are also rising potentially impacting the coral and fish. Coral bleaching, accelerated by destructive storms and the ‘highest levels of thermal stress on record’, also impacted the Great Barrier Reef. Scientists have concluded from the ‘coral graveyard’ that it is the worst bleaching event yet for the Great Barrier Reef.

‘Shower with a partner’ is what Colombians are being asked to do amidst a worsening drought. The capital city of Bogota could run out of water in two months.

Two Climate monitoring organizations reported in April that Europe is the fastest-warming continent. Temperatures are rising twice as fast as the rest of the globe.

Earthquakes

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake shook Taiwan, the strongest quake in 25 years. Over 100 buildings were damaged and at least 900 were injured. A rare 4.8 earthquake rocked New York City followed by over 12 aftershocks. No injuries or significant damage was reported. Worldwide, there were fourteen earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.0 or greater.

Storms

Torrential rains caused floods in various places throughout the world. Forty-five people were killed in Kenya when a dam burst amid ‘heavier-than-usual’ rainfall. More than 185,000 people were displaced from their homes and many had to be rescued from the flooding. In the United Arab Emirates a storm dumped the most rain ever recorded on Dubai. The roads and airport were flooded and the city came to a standstill.

Flooding in China impacted tens of millions of people when roads were submerged and residents were trapped by high water levels. Likewise, ‘the worst floods in decades’ caused more than 100,000 people in Russia to evacuate low-lying areas. Europe’s third-largest river breached an embankment dam, flooding the city of Orsk.

In the US, tornadoes killed at least 4 in Oklahoma and injured many more in Nebraska and Iowa.

2 Esdras 15:27

“And he answered and said to me: ‘You also will be preserved until that time, namely until that sign which the Most High will bring about before the inhabitants of the earth at the end of days. When horror seizes the inhabitants of earth, and they fall into many tribulations and further, they fall into great torments. And it will happen that they will say in their thoughts because of their great tribulations, ‘The Mighty One does not anymore remember the earth’; It will happen when they lose hope, that the time will awake.”

2 Baruch 25:1-4

Caught in Unawares

“And take heed to yourself, lest at any time your hearts are overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness1“The serpents are the leaders of the peoples and their wine is their ways.” DD 3:19, and cares of this life, and so that day comes upon you in unawareness. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. You watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be able to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Adam.”
