Council of Nicaea
A House Divided
1700 years ago in 325 AD Constantine, the Emperor of the Roman Empire, summoned the ‘Christian’ religious leaders to the city of Nicaea. There were two main drivers for this first ever ‘ecumenical council.’ Most well known was the aim to resolve divisions between Christians regarding beliefs and practices. But for Constantine, the primary purpose was political. Minimizing the religious differences would bring a more ‘united’ empire, a politically advantageous goal.
“…Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand?”
Matthew 12:25-26
Constantine had only just joined the Eastern and Western Roman empires into one Roman empire the year before. Political instability could ‘destabilize his authority‘ as the leader of the Roman Empire. A state sponsored religion, or an ‘imperial religion’ was seen as a tool to unite factions in support of Constantine. Constantine’s Empire was a divided Empire. He was looking for an agreement of the majority in his ecumenical council. Is God’s Word for the majority?
“Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there are which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there are that find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14
Unifying Beliefs and Practices – whether right or wrong
The religious schisms up for debate at the Council of Nicaea included whether Jesus was a man or a god, when Easter should be celebrated and rules governing bishops and their territories. ‘Was Jesus a man or a god?’ dominated the debates and resulted in The Nicene Creed. This statement of faith was drafted by those in attendance and is still the basis for the ‘statements of faith’ of most Christian denominations.
The Nicene Creed and the statements of faith still written today are not from the Bible. There is no where in God’s Word where you will find these creeds. Yet, a majority of Christian’s today are more familiar with theses creeds than with God’s own Words. The Nicene Creed is a distortion of the Words of God, written and voted on by a group of people 1700 years ago. Those who where in disagreements (such as Arius) were just removed from the council so an agreement could be made.
“For I testify unto every man that hears the Words of the prophecy of this Book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this Book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the Book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life and out of the Holy City and from the things which are written in this Book.”
Revelation 22:18-19
“Every Word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Do not add unto His words, lest He reprove you and you be found a liar.”
Proverbs 30:5-6
This Nicene Creed was drafted to directly refute those who believed Jesus was a man and not God manifest in the flesh. Jesus himself said this:
“… Why do you call me good? there is none good but One, that is, God…”
Mathew 19:17

First Papal Trip – Destination Nicaea!
The newly appointed Pope Leo XIV said the Vatican was preparing for a papal trip to Iznik Turkey potentially as early as this week! Iznik was previously called Nicaea and is the location where the Nicene Creed was drafted 1700 years ago. Just as in the time of Constantine, the papal visit is seen as having both religious and political implications. One professor stated the visit by the Pope would be ‘a major gesture in both religious terms and international relations.’
Pontifex Maximus
Going back to Constantine, his devotion to so called Christianity was not exactly without exceptions. He still retained the title of Pontifex Maximus, the title of the head priest of the pagan Roman state religions going back centuries before Constantine. Constantine continued to have coins minted with his image as Sol Invictus, the predominate pagan god. He clearly walked the fence between the dominate religions as a way to maintain support from all factions. Or is there something else manifesting here?
Religious Syncretism
What the Council of Nicaea actually records is a merging of pagan beliefs into so-called Christianity, known as religious syncretism. The pagan ideas incorporated into the Nicene Creed include that a man is a god, there is a physical resurrection and there is a need for a physical baptism. This is not in God’s Word! This is exactly what God calls a ‘fleshly mindset!’
“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh[ly mindset] cannot please God.”
Romans 8:5-8
Just as Constantine continued the pagan beliefs, he also kept the pagan titles. The Roman Catholic Church and all of her harlot daughters continue to promote these pagan beliefs. Amazingly, today there is still a Pontifex Maximus as the head of the Roman religion and his name is Pope Leo XIV!

“Come here; I will show unto you the judgment of the Great Whore that sits upon many waters: With whom the kings/leaders of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy… And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
Revelation 17:1-5

Just as Constantine looked to align himself with religions for political advantage, there are governments and world leaders today that do the same. No doubt, during this year’s many celebrations of the 1700-year anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, both religious and political leaders will come together to recognize and celebrate the lies perpetrated by the Council of Nicaea.
“You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
James 4:4
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God…”
1 Corinthians 3:19
