May 2025 was a month where fighting escalated in many countries. India and Pakistan had a ‘dogfight’ with 125 jets before calling a ceasefire. Israel expanded its ground offensive with ‘Operation Gideon’s Chariot’ while continuing to take over Gaza. Russia launched the largest aerial attack on Ukraine so far in the war. With all the talks of peace, the wars just continue to escalate. Is there another way that war is escalating around the world? Below we take a look at World War III and the the impact technology is having in conflicts between countries but also between those leaders in high places and the people. What do all of these events have to do with prophecy?

Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.
Passin’ the Hat
Following the death of Pope Francis in April, a new Pope was elected this May. Pope Leo XIV is the first Pope hailing from the United States. World leaders from both governments and religions once again converged on the Vatican, this time for the inaugural Mass given by the new Pope. They applauded as the hat was passed to the new Pope without any knowledge of where this organization comes from. A picture speaks a thousand words.
During the inaugural mass of Pope Leo XIV he said he wants the Roman Catholic church to be a ‘small leaven of unity’ during this time of ‘too much discord and too many wounds.’ Jesus called the leaven of the pharisees hypocrisy. Any leaven from the Roman Catholic Church is exactly that. Just think of all the wounds they have caused over centuries with the crusades, inquisitions and sexual abuse scandal! Their hypocrisy is not hidden, but in plain sight!

Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing – Papal Hypocrisy
Speaking of papal hypocrisy, as those in high places honored the new head of the Roman Catholic Church, abuse survivors were ‘concerned and insulted’ at the selection. In a story that is repeated over and over regarding the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church, the new Pope Leo XIV has been accused of not taking appropriate action when becoming aware of abuse within his Archdiocese.

Wars and Rumors of Wars
Ukraine-Russian War
So much for a ceasefire! Ukraine and Russia continue to fight with escalations on both sides. Russia launched its largest aerial attack yet, including strikes on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Germany is sending Ukraine additional long-range missiles and $5.65 Billion in military support. They also said there were no more range restrictions on those weapons. Meanwhile, the two fighting countries completed a large prisoner swap trading 1,000 prisoners on each side. There are continued talks of a ceasefire, yet actions are speaking louder than words.
The Trump administration approved the first sale of weapons to Ukraine following the minerals deal that was signed between the two countries. The ‘mineral deal’ includes not just rare earth metals but also oil and gas. So what is this war really about? Resources and profits.
Violence in the Middle East
Israel-Hamas War
In April it was reported that Netanyahu started a new phase of seizing territory and dividing up the Gaza strip. Now, in May, Netanyahu announced plans to build at least 22 new settlements in the West Bank to reinforce Israeli control of the territory. The Palestinian authority called the planned settlements a ‘dangerous escalation and a challenge to international legitimacy and international law’ that would ‘perpetuate regional violence and instability.’ The settlements are considered illegal under international law.
A group of delegates from 31 countries including Italy, Canada, the UK, China and Russia were in the West Bank to personally observe the humanitarian situation. Israel approved the visit, but when the group deviated from the approved route, according to the Israeli military, warning shots were fired by Israel. The group ran for cover when the shots continued but no injuries were reported.
In May, a ‘large-scale’ ground operation was started by the Israeli army to seize ‘operational control’ of parts of the Gaza strip. The escalation, called ‘ Operation Gideon’s Chariots‘ is a key component of Netanyahu’s announcement that Israel intends to seize control of the entire Gaza strip.
There is a lesson to learn from the scenario with Gideon, but Israel is invoking Gideon while taking over Gaza by their own strength. Gideon went to battle with only 300 men after God told him to send 31,700 away. One purpose was to teach that it is not by man’s strength, but by God that the enemies are defeated. It was through Gideon’s trust in God, the sound of the trumpets and the shouting of ‘The Sword of the Lord and of Gideon!’ that Gideon’s enemies scattered. See Judges Chapter 7.
“And the Lord said to Gideon, The people that are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt (boast of) themselves before Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me’.”

War and Famine
The famine in Gaza has seen some relief with Israel now allowing minimal aid into the region. The UN determined Gaza is the ‘hungriest place on earth’ because 100% of its population is currently at risk of famine. The aid deliveries have not gone smoothly with stampedes killing four.
Additional airstrikes were made by Israel against Lebanon which is supposedly under a ceasefire agreement. But that agreement ‘allows’ Israel to make strikes against any immediate threats, which they have been doing on a daily basis. Where is the cease in firing with that agreement?
Yemen & Syria
The US has hit over 1,000 targets in Yemen while going after the Houthis since March of this year. Yet in May, a ceasefire was agreed upon between the Houthis and the US! The Houthis agreed to stop attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea, but said they will continue to attack Israel. Israel committed to continuing their campaign against the Houthis with or without the US. The Houthis managed to strike the perimeter of the Tel Aviv airport with a missile in early May.
India and Pakistan
Tensions escalated between India and Pakistan into a full-blown air-battle or dogfight between their two military’s. This type of fighting at this scale with an estimated 125 jets has not been seen since World War II. A week later, a cease-fire was negotiated and celebrated by world leaders around the world. Both India and Pakistan claimed victory. But then Modi, the Prime Minister of India said he had only ‘paused’ the military action against Pakistan. So far the cease-fire has held.
“Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief/evil is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Rumors of War
World War III?!
Wars continue to rage on many continents as just covered above. Many are asking if the world is on the verge of World War III? In one survey of Americans and Western Europeans, over 45% of respondents said World War III would start within the next ten years. Many countries are expanding their military staffing and budgets as tensions escalate including Finland which is concerned about its border with Russia. Poland has closed down the Russian consulate in Krakow following their conclusion that Russia’s intelligence services caused a huge fire that destroyed a shopping center last year. Poland, Lithuania and the UK have all had arson attacks that investigators have linked to Russia.
Theses incidents, whether Russia did in fact commit them or not, cause further tensions between theses nations. Contributing to the concerns about World War III is the way technology has completely changed the way wars are fought. This has prompted some to question whether World War III has actually already started?
Technology
Technology combined with globalization has connected the world in a way never seen before. The benefits are clear. Communication can occur to almost any part of the world just about instantaneously. But that benefit can also be a curse when it comes to those with malicious intent. For example, in May Russia was accused of hacking into the camera systems for Ukrainian border security, military installations and rail stations.
In May, a review in Britain regarding the countries strategic defense situation concludes the country is facing ‘a new era of threat’ in regards to ‘drones, artificial intelligence and other technologies changing the nature of warfare more fundamentally than at any other point in history.’ The conclusion is essentially ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ with the defense secretary announcing that AI will play an increasing role in the armed forces. He said, ‘In five years’ time, AI will have had a massive impact in the military and in the battlefield. We can see this already in Ukraine, just like in every other walk of life.’
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence technology is based on human inputs and humans can make mistakes just as that technology can make mistakes. As a minor example, AI was recently used to recommend a reading list, yet some of the books it recommended were not real books. It just made them up! Here is a list of examples where the use of AI has resulted in errors and failures.
Trojan Horse
Artificial intelligence is a Trojan horse. It looks helpful, and like many technologies, can be helpful but it removes the need for humans to learn information for themselves. Many are welcoming this Trojan horse with open arms, including schools. In Estonia, schools are giving each student there own AI accounts. Estonia’s ’embrace of all things digital’ is credited for its success in education. But what if the electronics were taken away, say from a natural disaster that causes a massive power failure? Will those students have the knowledge to function without their electronics?
Trade Wars to Re-Balance Economies
Linked together with these ‘advances’ in technology is the ongoing trade wars. As covered last month President Trump has stirred up trade relations with hundreds of countries around the world. His intent is to re-balance economies, yet he is not the only one initiating this purpose on a level not seen before. In May the finance officials from the G7 member countries set an agenda to target China’s trade practices to counter ‘economic imbalances.’ This is becoming a trending concern. What could this ‘economic balancing’ lead to? Is this a step toward a universal currency or universal digital currency?
Got Debt?
Debt is another tool used to control nations and people. A majority of individuals, corporations and countries hold massive debt. The US currently has the most debt of any country. That debt is just about to pass $37 Trillion or $37,000,000,000,000. Most US debt is held within the US, but about $8 Trillion of it is owed to other countries including China, Japan and the UK.
Other countries are also heavily in debt and in 2025 seventy-five of the poorest countries are facing loan repayment deadlines totaling $35 Billion, most of which is owed to China. China has been accused of leveraging the debt for political means as well as entrapping nations that never had the means to repay those loans.

Identification going Digital
Technology has become a big part of identification and now national ID’s are going digital. National ID’s have been digitized in the countries shown in green on the map below.
This May the Real ID requirement went into effect for the United States, the final step to a true national ID. Currently this ID is not 100% digitized, although that is an option in several states and TSA has a list of which ones it accepts. Without a Real ID American’s can no longer travel on an airplane or enter certain federal buildings. But this is just the beginning. Now that a universal ID is in place it won’t be long before it is 100% digitized. Along with digitization, the use of this national ID will only expand. This will be done in the name of security, efficiency, cost-savings and convenience.
For an example of when this happened before, go back to the implementation of the social security number system. When it first started, Social Security cards were issued with the statement printed on the card ‘Not for identification.’ Is that the case now? No.
Your Social Security number is used for identification on employment documents, banking, healthcare and more. So take a guess at where this real ID will be used in the near future. This ID will be connected to your digital banking in addition to healthcare and of course government interactions such as collecting Social Security. The Mark of the Beast
All of the above is part of World War III, a war that is not just an escalation of militaries destroying militaries, but also between those in high places – the elite who run the world and the people. The people are becoming more and more dependent on the technology systems made and controlled by those elite. Technology today is used to buy and sell everything. Whether it be food and clothing or to enter your place of employment and collect your paycheck. In return you no longer have any privacy or security. You can be ‘turned off’ digitally by those who control the technology. This puts you in servitude to those who control the switch.
“And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that has the mark (charagma – card), or the name/authority of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

Tribulation
Fires and Drought
While the world is in military and political chaos, the weather has also been the cause of tribulation around the world. Record loss of forests were observed in 2024 due to fires. These losses were not isolated to one continent, but occurred from South America to Siberia. One hard-hit region is the Amazon which is experiencing the worst drought on record. The dry vegetation is providing fuel for fires to spread further than before.
Meanwhile in Canada, the fire season has started with already record-breaking fires. Over 17,000 people were being airlifted out of regions with limited access and emergency services were reaching their limits of support.
Israel experienced their worst wildfires ever on record when their Independence Day events were halted due to the fires. A declaration of a national emergency was called and for a short time there was concern that the fires could reach the city of Jerusalem. This did not occur but military assistance was called in to suppress the wind-driven fires.
For the first time, a dust storm warning was called for the City of Chicago. Storms and wind picked up dust from dry farms that had recently been tilled. In previous generations during the dust bowl, there certainly had been dust storms, but the difference now is those storms likely picked up toxic pesticides and chemicals from modern farming practices.
Floods, Tornadoes and Storms
Meanwhile, too much water also led to death and destruction. In the US, at least 28 people were killed from storms that included as least a dozen tornadoes. The weather system stretched from Texas to Illinois and all the way to Virginia blanketing the States. Likewise, torrential floods in Nigeria killed 115. Storms in India claimed the lives of seven people while Paris was hit was a massive hail storm.
In Australia, at least five lives were lost and extensive damage was incurred due to floods. East coast farmers were significantly impacted. An estimated 10,000 properties were damaged and almost 50,000 people were isolated with no way out of the region due to high waters. The news reported the event as the worst flooding many have seen in their lifetime. Many who survived the flood, fear their farm, and therefor their livelihood, will not survive due to the loss of livestock. On the West Coast of Australia, farmers are also fearing the loss of the livelihood, but for the opposite reason. Drought has devastated the region with crops failing leading to less food for livestock.
Radio Blackout
In May the largest sunspot of solar cycle 25 traveled across the face of the sun. It was half the size of the sunspot that led to the Carrington Event in 1859. Also in May, the strongest solar flare in 2025, an X2.7 erupted from the sun and caused a large radio blackout. In 2024, the largest solar flare of cycle 25, an X8.7 also caused radio blackouts and auroras visible around the world. Here is a video showing the impacts of the most recent X-class solar flare.
