Q&A: Faithfulness to the LORD

Question: How can we know how to be faithful to the LORD God?

God Himself answered this question in the form of the Ten Commandments. He wrote them on two tablets of stone, delivered them to the House of Israel by the hand of Moses and had them put into the Ark of the Covenant.

“And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.”

Exodus 20
The Ark of the Covenant
The Ark of the Covenant
Contains the Tablets of the Law of the Covenant

You shall not make unto you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve/worship them: for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep My Commandments…”

“You shall not commit adultery.”

Exodus 20

The Greatest Commandments

“Then one of them which was a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him, and saying, ‘Master, which is the Great Commandment in the Law?’

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great Commandment. And the second is like unto it: You shall love your neighbor/brother as yourself.”

On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the prophets.”

Matt 22:35-40

The Faithful receive the Teaching

“…Jesus appeared; he put on that book (“The living Book of the Living”); was nailed to a tree; and published the edict of the Father on the cross. O such great teaching! He draws himself down to death though life eternal clothes him. Having stripped himself of the perishable rags, he put on imperishability, which no one can possibly take away from him. Having entered the empty spaces of terrors, he passed through those who were stripped naked by oblivion, being knowledge and perfection, proclaiming the things that are in the heart of the Father in order to teach those who will receive teaching.”

Gospel of Truth :9 (Nag Hammadi Library)

They hated both me and my Father

“If I had not come and spoken to them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. He that hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no other man has ever done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.”

Jesus – John 15:18-24

The Faithful Love the LORD and Keep His Commandments

“Your words have been stout against Me, saith the Lord. Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken so much against You?’ You have said, ‘It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept His ordinance and that we have walked mournfully before the Lord of hosts?’

And now we call the proud ‘happy/blessed/right’; yes, they that work wickedness are set up; yes, they that test God are even delivered.

Then they that reverence the Lord spoke often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for them that reverence the Lord, and that think/meditate upon His Name. And they shall be Mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up My jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him.

Then you shall return and discern between the Righteous and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that serves Him not.”

Malachi 3:13-18

The Faithful Stand with Him

“I looked and lo, a Lamb stood on Mount Sion/Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s Name written in their foreheads (forefront of the mind’s eye)… These are they that follow the Lamb wheresoever he goes… being the firstfruits… Here are they that keep the Commandments of God and the faith/fidelity of Jesus Christ.”

Revelations 14:1, 12

This also answers the question: Who are the 144,000?

Come, Let’s Go Up to Zion Medley

The Faithful Learn the Ways of the LORD

“It shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills. All nations shall flow unto it. Many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the Law, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

O House of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.”
