Prophecy Monthly – April 2025

April was a month of mourning. First the world’s Easter traditions ‘celebrate’ the death of Jesus followed by his supposed physical resurrection. This April, the death of Pope Francis and his funeral Mass dominated the News. The funeral was a world-wide event with leaders and rulers from hundreds of countries attending the Mass. In other News, wars, both military wars and trade wars continued to escalate. Reports of sexual abuse continues to plague the Roman Catholic church as well as institutions such as LA’s juvenile support systems. What do all of these events have to do with prophecy?

The following map is a summary of current events related to prophecy. Below the map you will find the event details and relevant Scriptural references. Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.

False Feast Days

Easter or Ishtar?

April sprung up as a month with celebrations around the world. Easter was celebrated in 2025 on the same date in both the Orthodox and Catholic religions as well as the religions that spawned from them such as the Protestants and Evangelicals. For some denominations, Easter week is a multi-day affair starting with Palm Sunday, Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, so called ‘Good’ Friday’, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Phew! That’s a lot of communion crackers if one goes to a Mass on each day!

Is this holiday, Easter, and all that goes with it, actually ‘Holy?’ God, not man, determines what is Holy or not and Easter is NOT holy. We have covered this particular pagan holiday extensively here, here and here. Easter is mentioned in the Bible, but not where you think. It is not in the New Testament, where the word Pascha, which means Passover, has been incorrectly translated as Easter. You will find references to Easter in the Old Testament with it origins in the worship of the queen of heaven or Ashtoreth. Ashtoreth is the idol or graven image of the grove, which coincides with Ishtar, the true origin of Easter. The articles linked below and this video will make the connections from Ishtar to Easter.

“Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign… And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD after the abominations of the heathen… he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove (Asherah, Astarte, Ashtoreth, Eostre)… and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger. And he set a graven image of the grove (Ashtoreth) that he had made in the house…”

2 Kings 21:1-7

“The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger. Do they provoke Me to anger? says the LORD, do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?”

Jeremiah 7:18-19
Eastermas

Like Christmas, Easter, or as some in the UK have termed it, Eastermas, is growing as a major consumerism holiday. Decorating trees with plastic eggs is a trend that has been going on for centuries in Germany. Now this tradition of men has expanded into the UK, America and elsewhere. Exchanging gifts and of course grand Easter meals with elaborate decorations is now normal. None of this has anything to do with the death of Jesus!

“He answered and said unto them, Well has Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things you do. And he said unto them, Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.”

Isaiah 29:13

“… Every plant, which my Heavenly Father has not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Then Peter answered and said to him, Declare unto us this parable. And Jesus said, Are you also yet without understanding? Don’t you yet understand, that whatsoever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashed hands defiles not a man.”

Matthew 15:7-20

Feast Days into Mourning

Easter Monday

Easter Monday is the second day of Eastertide for Catholics and also called Monday of the Angel. Easter Monday is also Bright Monday kicking off Bright Week for Eastern Orthodox devotees. These events are a celebration of the supposed physical resurrection of Jesus. Most European countries such as Italy, Germany and Slovakia designate the day as a public holiday as does Australia, Canada and South Africa. In the US it is better known as the day when the annual White House Easter egg roll is held. If you thought your eggs were expensive, in 2025 the White House started selling sponsorships for the annual Easter Egg Roll starting at $75,000.

But this Easter Monday was different, because it became a day of mourning due to the death of Pope Francis.

Pope Francis was considered the 266th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church according to their claim of apostolic succession. He was the top dog for just over twelve years. Having only recently returned to the Vatican after a long stay in a hospital for various illnesses, he attended the Vatican’s Easter Service and died the next morning.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God… I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.”

Amos 8:9-10
Bring Out Your Dead

Five days later the Pope’s Funeral Mass was held in front of over 400,000 mourners from around the world. The sea of people was a mixture of cardinals, priests, nuns, world leaders, royals and the general public. In a world of great divisions, wars and turmoil, the death of the Pope brought a singular focus on the passing of the leader of 1.4 billion people on the planet. This map from from wikimedia shows all of the countries that sent a delegation to the funeral.

“…I will show to you the judgment of the great whore that sits on many waters (seas of people): With whom the kings/rulers of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication/adultery towards God. (‘… their wine is their ways…’ Deut 32:33, DD 3:19) So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

Rev 17:1-5
The Serpent Sheds its Skin

Even though a pope has died, the Roman Catholic Church is readying to elect their next leader during a Conclave. Scheduled to start on May 7th, the world will watch for the white smoke indicating the Cardinals have elected the new head of the Roman Catholic Church. Jockeying for the roll of top dog is done behind closed doors between the Cardinals. But until the Conclave begins speculation and posturing for candidates has already made the news. President Trump has even jokingly offered himself as an option.

In the US ‘MAGA’ Catholics, as some call them, are pushing for a conservative Francis replacement. As this article points out, US ‘influencers’ have already traveled to Rome for the sole intention of meeting with Bishops and Cardinals to ‘lobby’ for their recommendations. They won’t call it lobbying, but that’s exactly what it is. No doubt liberal leaning Catholics are doing the same thing. The division between the left and right seems to come directly to the U.S.A. from the Vatican. (‘divide and conquer’ – from the Latin divide et impera)

There are also those not petitioning for certain cardinals, but against them. The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests or SNAP has a website called ‘Conclave Watch’ regarding the Cardinals and their specific involvement with the global sexual abuse scandal within the Roman Catholic Church. SNAP has outlined individual Cardinals who have been involved with covering up abuse, transferring known predator priests and even some who themselves have been accused of abuse. This college of Cardinals is just like the Pharisees and the Sanhedrin in the time of Jesus.

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity…. You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell?”

Matthew 23:27-33

Hypocrites

Opus Dei

Speaking of hypocrites, in April several news organizations covered an ongoing lawsuit against Opus Dei, a Conservative Catholic group. A group of 43 women in Argentina (Pope Frances’ home country) are suing Opus Dei, accusing them of violating human rights and human trafficking. The case has been accepted by federal prosecutors and is now before a judge who will decide if there will be a trial.

A recently published book, ‘Opus’ by Gareth Gore, goes into the history as well as the present day activities of Opus Dei. This Catholic group is active not just in South America, but around the world including the United States. Opus Dei started in the late 1920’s in Spain by a Catholic priest. His group survived the Spanish Civil War, partially due to their association with General Franco. This is significant because a recent AP article about JD Vance stressed his Conservative Catholic associations. The AP included the statement, “Some Catholics, including Conservatives, have raised alarms about the company Vance has kept, saying post liberalism has historical connections to 20th century European movements that are associated with authoritarian regimes like Francisco Franco’s in Spain.” Without specifically calling out Opus Dei, they are identifying Opus Dei as the Conservative Catholic group with whom JD Vance is associated.

Protests

Last March there were protests around the world against governments and their actions. This April, the protests were in the US.

Large ‘Hands Off’ protests against Trump and his administration took place in major cities and small cities alike. The protests were to ‘protect democracy’ which is an interesting slogan considering the rules of democracy led to Trump’s election in the first place. Maybe democracy is not what needs protecting? A leader who actually puts God first, looks to His Law, and walks with Him is the leader of God’s People. Democracy has nothing to do with it.

“And there shall be… upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring (protests).”

Luke 21:25

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Ukraine-Russian War

Fighting between Ukraine and Russia continued even during a supposed ‘Easter’ ceasefire. A large attack on Kharkiv as well as an attack in Kyiv brought particular attention from World leaders, with Trump messaging on social media ‘Vladimir, STOP’ to Russian President Putin. The fighting has not stopped.

Violence in the Middle East

Israel-Hamas War

Israel continued airstrikes throughout Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. Netanyahu has started a new phase of seizing territory and dividing up the Gaza strip. Israel has been accused of fabricating a human-made famine in Gaza through their blockade of Unwar (a Palestinian aid group) and any food deliveries. Since the beginning of March, all food deliveries have been prevented from entering the Gaza Strip by Israel. The UN International Court continues to pressure Israel regarding the blockade.

Iran

A massive explosion occurred at the Iranian port of Shahid Rajaee in what is suspected to be a chemical explosion inside shipping containers. At least 28 died and over 700 were injured. Russia is sending aid to assist with the aftermath. Israel has been behind attacks on this port in the past, but so far no claims of sabotage have been made or claimed. It appears to have been an accident. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is continuing peace talks with Iran.

Yemen & Syria

A US airstrike on a port in Yemen killed at least 80 and injured over 150 people. The Trump administration continues to battle the Houthis who have been attacking cargo ships and oil tankers in the Red Sea. Following the most recent attacks, the Houthis threatened to attack two US aircraft carriers and a military base in Israel. One of those attacks against an aircraft carrier reportedly caused it to zig-zig, which must have been some feat for that size of a ship. In the process a fighter jet rolled off the ship and sank. The UK joined the US in carrying out attacks against the Houthis.

India and Pakistan

Tensions flared on the Kashmir border of India and Pakistan. An attack in the disputed area killed 26 people, mostly were Indian tourists. Ever since the massacre, the two countries have been exchanging fire along the border, an area over which both sides claim to have ownership. India ordered all Pakistani residents to leave the Indian controlled regions and Pakistan voiced concerns of an imminent Indian military response to the attack.

“Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief/evil is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up.”

Psalm 28:3-5

“And it shall come to pass in the last days… many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the Mountain of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob and He will teach us of His ways, … and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Isaiah 2:2-4

Rumors of War

South Sudan & Sudan

The ongoing civil war in Sudan has brought many citizens to refugee camps to escape the fighting. In April, one such camp that has housed an estimated 700,000 people was attacked by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). At least 400 were killed and an estimated 400,000 people fled the refuge encampment. The RSF has been accused of holding some of the remaining refugees hostage and using them as human shields. The ordeal is not yet over as the war continues.

In April, the international court of justice in The Hague heard a case brought by Sudan against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sudan is accusing the UAE of ‘complicity in genocide’ because they supplied military equipment to the RSF. The sale of military equipment is big business in the world, and many countries profit off of ongoing senseless fighting where millions of civilians are killed.

In the Dominican Republic of Congo’s hope of a truce with M23 may be in sight after Qatar facilitated ceasefire talks. But consider that this will be the seventh truce or ceasefire agreement between the two groups since 2021. It remains to be seen whether it will stick this time.

Trade War

Another type of war made headlines in April, a Trade War. President Trump has stirred up trade relations with hundreds of countries around the world. He has set China specifically in his cross hairs. These battles between the merchants of the earth have disrupted deliveries of all kinds including postal mail and Boeing jets from China. In the US, companies are searching for ways to make products locally to avoid the on-again, off-again tariffs. Regionally made items such as Scottish Whisky or French wine are expected to out price some customers with the additional tariffs.

The intent is to re-balance economies in this game of tit-for-tat between global powers. Consumers have little influence in the matter, yet will receive the brunt of the impacts. Of course, the less you need from out of the country, no matter which country you live in, the less impact this global trade war will have…theoretically.

Violence

Sexual Abuse Violence

The Roman Catholic Church has dominated the news with the death of the Pope. Meanwhile, stories around the world continue to cover the sexual abuse scandal that plagues the church. Notably, the daughter of the French prime minister said she was ‘brutally beaten at a private Catholic school’ called Betharram in the 1980. The school is amidst a scandal of both physical and sexual abuse including group rape by two priests. Over 200 complaints have been made against this one school and a book is covering the stories of survivors, including the daughter of the Prime Minister.

In the US, the New Orleans Archdiocese filed for bankruptcy protection five years ago. Now the judge overseeing the case has instructed the archdiocese to defend why he should just not cancel the bankruptcy filing and leave the archdiocese open to individual lawsuits from the over 500 accusers. How can an organization dealing with crimes file for bankruptcy? What they did is a clear crime, they should be in court for the crimes, not for filling bankruptcy protection. This is pure corruption no matter what aspect of the story you look at!

The city of Los Angeles just approved $4 Billion in payouts to victims of sexual abuse who were in juvenile facilities. The 7,000 claims go back to 1959 and also includes victims put into foster care.

“In the seventh week there will come priests; idolaters, adulterers, money lovers, arrogant, lawless, voluptuaries, pederasts…”

Testament of Levi 17:11

Tribulation

Coral Bleaching Worldwide

More than 80% of the worlds coral reefs are in ‘uncharted territory’ with the current bleaching event. Increased water temperatures drive the change in coral color to white which is from the loss of algae and pigments. Coral can recover from bleaching events when it is kept to a minimum and the water conditions change. But if it goes on for longer periods or at higher temperatures, the coral will die. The cycles of the sun are one of, if not the greatest influence on our global temperature cycles. This worldwide bleaching event coincides with our approach to solar maximum. Is there a connection?

Plague

A region of New Zealand is experiencing an overabundance, some are calling it a plague, of millipedes! They have been on the Island for at least 20 years, but have no known predator. This year, the infestation has been to the extreme with residents calling it a ‘horror movie’ and asking authorities for help. Mating season, which has reportedly gone longer than normal, results in the tiny creatures entering homes, climbing up buildings and covering walkways. One person reported they woke up with them crawling on their face. That is a horror movie from an ecosystem that is out of balance.

Blackouts!

There were multiple country-wide blackouts on the planet in April. The entire island of Puerto Rico lost power. The reported caused was ‘vegetation on a power line’ and ‘failure of a protection system.’ This is not the first island-wide blackout. Residents are getting weary over their fragile power infrastructure.

Spain, Portugal and parts of France also went black from a massive power-outage with the cause much less certain. Authorities are denying it was a cyberattack, Space Weather experts are saying there were no solar anomalies that could have triggered the event and the initial report of a ‘rare atmospheric phenomenon’ has been called into question. Over 60 million people were impacted when rail lines, stoplights, ATM’s and mobile phone networks stopped working. Early reports indicate that the entire European power grid was close to collapse.

“For now disasters have come upon the whole world, and you will stay among them, for God will not deliver you because you have sinned against Him.”

2 Esdras 15:27

Caught in Unawares

“And take heed to yourself, lest at any time your hearts are overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness1“The serpents are the leaders of the peoples and their wine is their ways.” DD 3:19, and cares of this life, and so that day comes upon you in unawareness. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. You watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be able to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Adam.”
