Prophecy Monthly – July 2023

Around the world, July was a month of extremes. Extreme floods, extreme heat, extreme hypocrisy, extreme wars and extreme ignorance of all that is going on. Don’t you be caught in unawares!

The following map is a summary of current events related to prophecy. Below the map you will find the event details and relevant scriptural references. Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic pointing to a future time, and that time is now.

Extreme Weather & Solar Maximum

July was a month of fire and water with extremes of one of the two impacting every corner of the globe. Record breaking heat along with wildfires, floods and landslides all led to the deaths of hundreds of people. All the while, the Sun continues its climb to Solar Maximum, an event the coincides with an increase in solar flares, coronal mass ejections and filament eruptions, all three of which occurred this past month.

Water

Floods from heavy rains impacted both the US and the rest of the world. Pennsylvania floods swept away two children and Vermont received two months worth of rain in just a couple of days. Illinois and New York also had isolated areas of extreme flooding.

In Canada, the Atlantic region received just under 10 inches of rain in a single day, an amount not seen in 50 years. Four people were reported to be missing during this deluge, a typical three months worth of rain.

At least 50 people were killed in Pakistan from monsoon floods. In India, a mudslide killed 22 people with over 100 people still missing. Three regions of China received excessive rain with one area reporting it was the worst in 50 years. Mudslides and flooding killed at least 2 in Japan and over a dozen people were killed in South Korea. A spokesman for Japan’s meteorological agency was quoted as saying, ‘It’s raining like never before’ due to record setting rainfall.

Wind

Extreme rain and floods often go hand-in-hand with heavy wind in the form of typhoons, hurricanes or tornadoes. In July 21,000 people were evacuated in the Philippines due to tropical cyclone Egay (aka Doksuri) that led to the deaths of 14 people. In China 31,000 people were evacuated around Beijing from flooding associated with the same typhoon killing at least 20.

“And there will be great fear and trembling on the earth, and those who witness that wrath will shudder, and trembling will seize them. And after that, heavy rainstorms will come from the south and the north and another part from the west. And winds from the east will grow strong, and will reveal it…”

2 Esdras 15:37-39

“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Adam be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the Ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Adam be… “

Matthew 24:37-39

Heat

Temperature records were set across the globe during the month of July. Normally one of the hottest months, this year records fell both on land and sea.

Looking back at the month of June, the UK determined it was the hottest June since record keeping began. It wasn’t just the UK though, the temperature of the entire planet set the same record for the hottest June ever. The trend continued in July with the overall temperature of the earth setting a record three days in a row. Some scientists speculate that the last time the earth was this hot was before the previous two ice-ages, a period 120,000 years ago. The Arctic saw a record high of 83.8 F!

July’s record heat was the result of a heat wave in southern Europe that included Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Poland and Greece. Scientists named the heat wave Cerberus, a ‘three-headed dog in ancient Greek mythology who guarded the gates to the underworld.’ In other words, the heat wave was ‘hotter than hell!’

In the US, the waters around southern Florida reached an amazing 101.2F leading scientists to state “We are in uncharted territory.”

It wasn’t just Florida with high temperatures, a third of the US was under a heat advisor due to the widespread heat wave. Phoenix Arizona set a record when the daily high temperature was over 110F for 30 days in a row! The streak was broken when, on the last day of July, it ‘only’ got to 108F. That’s not much of a reprieve.

Temperature records were broken in China at125.9F, in Rome at 107F, and in Catalonia Spain at 113F. These are just a sample of records that contributed to July being the hottest month ever recorded. The director of the European Union’s Copernicus Climate change Service said, “We are seven months into 2023 and almost every month this year has been in the top five hottest on record.”

The southern half of the planet, which should be in winter is also setting records contributing to the overall trend of the planet. Australia has experienced unseasonable warm weather with the entire country above average temperatures, breaking the record for the hottest July recorded.

A little further south, the Antarctic sea ice, which should be growing in mass during this time of year, is at historic lows, triggering one ice scientists to state: “Unprecedented is a word that gets bandied around a lot, but it doesn’t really get to how shocking this is, It is very much outside our understanding of this system‘ referring to the current antarctic sea ice levels.

“For now disasters have come upon the whole world, and you will stay among them, for God will not deliver you, because you have sinned against him.”

2 Esdras 15:27

Fire

Wildfires spread across the globe during July. At least 40 deaths have been blamed on the fires in Southern Europe and North Africa. Evacuations from wildfires occurred in Spain, Greece, Italy and Canada. The entire Mediterranean region has been compared to a ‘ring of fire’ due to the number of wildfires burning there.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

2 Peter 3:10

Solar Maximum

What is solar maximum? The Sun has a naturally occurring cycle of activity spanning an average of 11 years or 22 years, depending on how you look at it. We are currently approaching the next solar maximum expected to peak in the next year or two with some predicting it could even hit by the end of this year. July reached a milestone in our current sun cycle when the sun spot activity hit a 21-year high, a peak not even seen in the last cycle, cycle 24. We are currently in cycle 25 which was predicted to be a quite one, similar to cycle 24, but just the opposite is in the works.

In July there was one X-class flare, the strongest rating, and multiple M and C-class flares. One non-earth directed flare, estimated to also have been an X-class flare caused an S-1 radiation storm leading to a polar cap absorption event. All of that sounds like science fiction, but only those trying to operate a shortwave radio or manage a satellite orbiting the planet would probably notice.

That’s not to say these solar events can’t and won’t have major impacts to our planet. In fact, as we approach solar maximum, these impacts have the potential to interrupt the power grid, damage or destroy satellites that are used for cellular and internet data and basically put anything electronic at risk. Similar to how the cycles of the moon are recognized to influence our tides, the sun influences our magnetic fields, leading to worldwide impacts that are just beginning to be understood.

Solar Maximum could hit us harder and sooner than we thought
Sunspot Counts hit a 21-year high
Radiation Storm caused by a solar eruption
Strong M-flares, Filament eruption with CME
One of the most visually dramatic eruptions of Solar Cycle 25 occurred

“… the world that was then (at the time of Noah), being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved to fire against the Day of Judgement and perdition of ungodly men.”

2 Peter 3:6-7

“…consider the days of summer, that the sun is upon it at its very beginning; while you seek for a covered and shady spot on account of the burning sun; while the earth is scorched up with fervid heat, and you become incapable of walking either upon the ground or upon the rocks in consequence of that heat.”

Hypocrisy

Sexual abuse in Churches

The Roman Catholic Church continues to expose their hypocrisy with multiple ongoing sexual abuse scandals while claiming to represent God. Another archdiocese in the US, this time in northern New York has filed for bankruptcy due to more than 100 lawsuits associated with sexual abuse by their clergy. It is the sixth diocese in New York state to do so. One attorney responded, “In declaring bankruptcy, the diocese knowingly obstructs survivors’ long-waited opportunity to say their piece; to be heard, to be acknowledged.”

In Louisiana, a former Catholic priest was sentenced to five years in prison for molesting grade school children. The church removed him as a priest in 2020 for inappropriate text messages. The conviction has been called ‘rare’ and contradicted the New Orleans archbishops proclamation that, “There has not been substantial allegation of sexual abuse of a minor in well over a decade by a member of the clergy in ministry in the archdiocese of New Orleans.”

As a follow-up to last month’s Prophecy Monthly, the judge currently residing over another abuse investigation has refused to recuse herself, like seven other judges already have, due to her association with the Catholic Church. This same judge also ordered a leak inquiry into the New Orleans Archdiocese cover-up report, not because the archdioces blatantly covered-up the abuse of a priest for at least 16 years, but because the confidentiality rules around the pending bankruptcy filing by the New Orleans Archdiocese may have been violated. You just can’t make this hypocrisy up!

In July Pope Francis appointed a new archbishop, Victor Fernandez, to lead the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, the office originally known as the Sacred Roman and Universal Inquisition. One of this groups main responsibilities is handling all those sexual abuse scandals prevalent throughout the church. This particular archbishop raised eyebrows due to his past admittance that mistakes were made regarding abuse scandals within his own archdiocese in 2019. He said, “Today I would certainly act very differently and certainly my performance was insufficient.” It’s interesting that the very office he is now in charge of, held him up from a promotion back in 2009, when Pope Francis, then Cardinal Bergoglio, had tried to elevate him to a new position in Argentina. The reason for the delay was concerns about the orthodoxy of his scholarship, the main point of the group he will now lead.

The appointment of Fernandez was further marred when a book he published 30 years ago was brought to light. As a parish priest he wrote an 80-page book titled “Heal Me with Your Mouth. The Art of Kissing,” which he is quoted as explaining in this 2018 article, was intended to “help you kiss better. That they (the pages of the book) motivate you to release the best of yourself in a kiss.” He wrote the book alongside young people ‘as a catechesis for teenagers.’ Most teenagers enjoy figuring out kissing without the assistance of a priest quite well. When a priest has been involved with kissing and teenagers, the result has more often been the abuse scandals this priest is now in charge of.

“In the seventh week there will come priests; idolaters, adulterers, money lovers, arrogant, lawless, voluptuaries, pederasts, those who practice bestiality.”

Testament of Levi 17:11

The Roman Catholic Church is not the only religious organization plagued by abuse claims. Five more people in the Jehovah’s Witness community of Pennsylvania have been charged with rape or molestation during a still ongoing investigation.

“For God shall bring every work into judgment, every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

Ecclesiastes 12:14

Woe to you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like white sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outside, but are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”

Matthew 23:27-28

Hypocrisy in Government

The US Supreme Court has come under more fire in July due to the use of staff to assist with activities with direct personal profit for the Justices. This linked article takes a deeper look at the various allegations against the Supreme Court justices and their hypocrisy!

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Ukraine

Ukraine and Russia are clearly no where close to a peace agreement. The Pope’s peace envoy has already made a trip to Russia as well as Ukraine and in July his next stop was to see Biden. If you thought the US was not in this war, why would the peace envoy make a trip to the US?

In the meantime, the war raged on and the bridge that links Crimea to Russia, a critical supply route, was damaged, killing two people. Putin promised retaliation in response. Drone attacks within Russian territory, including Moscow, escalated in July with some causing damage to several buildings. Meanwhile Russia carried out airstrikes, including at the port city of Odessa.

NATO met again and rejected Ukraine’s request to join the group, but at the same time, the US started supplying Ukraine with cluster bombs. These are weapons that more than two-thirds of the NATO alliance countries have banned due to high civilian casualties associated with use of the weapons. South Korea agreed to expand support for Ukraine and Russia has promised free grain to six African nations after the ‘Black Sea’ deal fell through.

Isaiah 59:8

“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, ‘The end of all flesh is come before me; because the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.'”

Genesis 6:11-13

Rumors of Wars

Biden signed an executive order to deploy 3,000 reservists to Europe to join NATO forces already there. All-in-all, the US forces in Europe currently stands at 100,000.

The US also announced $345 million for Taiwain to counter China. The military package will include defense systems and weapons.

The US also deployed a nuclear-armed submarine to South Korea. South Korean protestors rallied in front of the presidential office building in Seoul in response.

In the Persian gulf, marines, fighter jets and warships are building up a presence in a potential conflict with Iran. With all of these ongoing and potential wars, the weapons manufacturers must be working overtime! Who suffers and who profits?

Protests

There were protests in several countries throughout July. Israel has seen constant protests in response to the government’s plan to overhaul their Supreme Court’s oversight powers. The law was passed but the protests did not stop. A major highway was blocked, and doctors went on strike with more strikes threatened. The army reservists also threatened to not report for duty.

Luke 21:25

“When you are in tribulation, and all these things are come upon you, even in the latter days, if you turn to the LORD your God, and shall be obedient to His Voice; For the LORD your God is a merciful God; He will not forsake you, neither destroy you, nor forget the Covenant of Your fathers which He swore to them.”

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth, You watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be able to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Adam.”
